Microsoft is continuing to pile on value to its Xbox Game Pass service. Recently, the company announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers would also get to access their games through xCloud at no additional cost. Now, Microsoft is also partnering up with EA, bringing the EA Play library of games to Game Pass subscribers at no additional cost.
The announcement was made by Sarah Bond, CVP of Gaming Partnerships and Ecosystem at Microsoft. The post reads: “Today, we’re excited to announce the next step in this journey. We are teaming up with Electronic Arts to provide Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members with an EA Play membership at no additional cost starting this holiday. This means Ultimate members can enjoy EA Play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows 10 PCs, and Xbox Game Pass for PC members get EA Play on Windows 10. ”
Interestingly, EA Play is being bundled with the cheaper Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription too, likely in an effort to boost the value PC-only subscribers get from the service, which can be a tad less than those who also have Game Pass on console.
EA Play contains over 60 of EA's biggest games, including major sports franchises, the Mass Effect series, The Sims, Battlefield, Star Wars, Dead Space and more.

KitGuru Says: This is a pretty big value-add for Game Pass on PC and Game Pass Ultimate. With all of these initiatives to play more games for less money, Microsoft is setting itself up nicely for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launch in November.
