Activision accounts may not be compromised after all

Earlier this week, reports of Activision accounts being compromised began to circulate. The claim was that up to 500,000 people could be affected. Since then, however, Activision has refuted these claims, saying there has been no breach.

The rumour first appeared on the Twitter account ‘oRemyy, which has since been deleted, as noted by PCGamer. The account claimed that “the biggest hack in Call of Duty history is happening”. Activision Support later responded, saying reports of accounts being compromised are “inaccurate”.

The statement later goes on to say that the company investigates “all privacy concerns” and has not come across anything alarming. However, Activision does recommend that players take necessary precautions to protect their accounts.

Those precautions often involve using a secure password and using two-factor authentication wherever possible, a feature that ironically is not possible on Activision accounts right now.

KitGuru Says: Have any of you noticed anything odd with your Activision account recently? So far, it would appear that there is nothing to worry about.
