The last couple of weeks have been filled with next-gen console news. Last week, Microsoft kicked things off with the announcement of the Xbox Series S and pricing, pre-order and launch dates for both of its next-gen consoles. As of last night, Sony has joined the club, announcing a November launch date for the PS5, as well as pricing for the disc-version and the all-digital edition.
The PS5 is launching in select countries on the 12th of November, priced at $499 for the version with a disc drive and $399 for the all-digital edition. This puts the standard PS5 at the same price as the Xbox Series X, while the all-digital edition is $100 more expensive than the Xbox Series S.
PlayStation fans in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea can get hold of a PS5 starting on the 12th of November. The rest of the world, including the UK, will need to wait until the 19th of November.
Pre-orders will be available at select retailers starting today. Here in the UK, the PS5 will cost £449.99 or £359.99 for the All Digital edition.
