Last month just ahead of Gamescom Opening Night Live, Geoff Keighley announced that The Game Awards would also be happening again this December. While this is normally a huge on-stage event with a ton of industry guests in attendance, due to the current pandemic, this year's version will be an all-digital affair.
The Game Awards will take on a similar format to Opening Night Live in its digital approach. We can expect to see guests appearing live from Los Angeles, London and Tokyo on the 10th of December:

This is a live event, so don't expect much to be pre-recorded. As usual, we can expect a mix of awards announcements themselves and new announcements for upcoming games.
Last year, Microsoft had a particularly big showing with the Xbox Series X unveiling and the announcement of Hellblade 2. Hopefully this year, the TGAs will have some equally big announcements from publishers across the industry, teasing what's to come in 2021.
KitGuru Says: I'm glad to see The Game Awards returning again this year. Will many of you be tuning in?
