Overwatch’s Halloween event goes live tomorrow

Despite launching in 2015, Overwatch continues to be enjoyed by a large number of players. As such, each year, the team-based hero shooter celebrates Halloween with a limited time event. Dubbed the ‘Halloween Terror’, players will be able to play a number of limited time game modes, while also potentially getting their hands on some Halloween related character skins.

Announced during the Overwatch League Grand Finals stream, Blizzard released a 15-second teaser for the 2020 iteration of Halloween Terror, alonside the Tweet: “Ooh… Scary! Overwatch Halloween Terror begins on October 13!”

The video shows off a number of the skins that players can try to get their hands on during the course of the event. The Halloween Terror event will run from tomorrow, the 13th of October, until the 3rd of November, giving players around 3 weeks to try to obtain the limited-timed skins.

In the past, the Halloween Terror event has seen new modes brought to the game temporarily, including the co-op mode “Junkenstein’s Revenge,” as well as its endless variant. Furthermore, certain maps received reskins, making them more befitting of the Halloween spirit.

Though these changes are likely to return this year, it’ll be interesting to see whether Blizzard has any other additions planned for the 2020 iteration of the event.
