2020 sure has been odd, with even Apple abandoning its usual September iPhone launch due to supply chain issues. The situation will be rectified soon though, with Apple confirming a new event taking place later this month.
Apple has sent out invitations for its next special event, airing live from Apple Park. The tagline this time around is “Hi, Speed” – indicating that iPhone will finally make the jump to 5G connectivity.
Apple used its September event this year to announce new iPads and a new Apple Watch, saving the iPhone to later in the year. It looks like the iPhone 12 will now be announced on the 13th of October, with shipping expected to begin before the end of the month.
If you've been following Apple rumours over the course of this year, then you'll know that like most other companies, Apple's supply chain was also impacted by COVID-19. However, due to this delay, there should be plenty of stock to satisfy the usual day-one iPhone launch crowd.
