After a one month delay, today Apple officially announced the iPhone 12, featuring a 6.1-inch OLED display and a new design that takes inspiration from the iPhone 4 and the newer iPad Pro.
The iPhone 12 is the first 5G iPhone, capable of gigabit download speeds and 200MB/s upload speeds as long as your network provider can support that. Under the hood, you will also find a new A14 Bionic chip. The A14 Bionic is built using TSMC's 5nm process. The SoC comes with six CPU cores and four GPU cores, both of which are apparently at least 50% faster than competing smartphone chips.
Moving back to the outer-shell of the iPhone 12, you will find a ‘ceramic shield' glass screen to improve durability and on the back, there is a new 12MP wide-angle camera lens.
If a 6.1-inch phone is too large for you, then there is also the iPhone 12 Mini, with a 5.4-inch display while maintaining a dual-camera set up and 5G connectivity.
The iPhone 12 starts at $799 while the iPhone 12 Mini comes in at $699.
