Ubisoft trying its hand at a live-action adaptation of Assassin's Creed again. Instead of a Hollywood blockbuster, this time around we'll be getting a TV series, helmed by the folks at Netflix.
The Assassin's Creed Netflix series was announced this afternoon with the following teaser:

In a press release, Jason Altman, Executive Producer on the show, said: “For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the Assassin’s Creed brand into an iconic franchise. We’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe.”
Peter Friedlander, VP of original series at Netflix also added: “From its breath taking historical worlds and massive global appeal as one of the best selling video game franchises of all time, we are committed to carefully crafting epic and thrilling entertainment based on this distinct IP”.
There is no word on when this show will release, but currently, Netflix is looking for a showrunner and putting together the rest of the pre-production team.
KitGuru Says: It will be interesting to see how this is handled, particularly since Assassin's Creed has a range of main protagonists and settings that could be used. It could be a couple of years before we see this series come to fruition though, as there is still a long production road ahead.
