Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have an exclusive mode only for PlayStation

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare had some controversy prior to its release last year after it was announced that the game's Spec Ops Survival mode would be exclusive to PlayStation for a full year. Activision and Sony are continuing their antics again this year, with another exclusive game mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will bring back Zombies, but the Zombies Onslaught mode will only be available on PS4 and PS5 for a full year, leaving Xbox and PC players behind. By the time the mode heads to other platforms, most will already be moving on to whatever next year's Call of Duty ends up being.

In Zombies Onslaught, players are confined to a smaller area and take on waves of zombie hordes. Players must move around the map to each safe zone and work together to take out zombies quickly and efficiently.

The main Zombies campaign mode will still be available across all platforms, but those wanting a simpler, wave-shooter experience will have to play on PlayStation.

KitGuru Says: It is always annoying to see content arbitrarily gated like this, but ultimately, this didn't have much impact on Modern Warfare and likely won't affect the success of Black Ops Cold War either. What do you all think of this move?

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
