Since the initial release of No Man’s Sky, the game has gone from under delivering, to now going above and beyond when it comes to support and adding new features. With the next-gen consoles mere weeks away, the team at Hello Games have now detailed what upgrades will be coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series versions – including 4K60fps, 32-player multiplayer, and much more.
Making the announcement on its blog, Hello Games revealed that “Update 3.10 brings a graphically enhanced and smoother No Man’s Sky to the next generation of consoles”. The PS5 and Xbox Series X (as well as PC) versions of the game will include:
- Fuller worlds
- Save Game Transfer
- 32 player multiplayer
- 4K at 60FPS
- Ultra visuals
- Vast base building
- Warp speed load times
- Crossplay
- PS5 Haptics support
- Advanced audio
- PS5 PSVR support
All of these upgrades will be available at the consoles’ launch for free to all players. It is also worth noting that while Xbox Series S owners won't be able to play at 4K60, they “can customise their experience with a choice between high quality native resolution at 30fps or high performance at 60fps modes.”
You can check out Hello Games’ blog post for a more comprehensive comparison of the upgrades set to arrive with the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series version of the game. With some developers charging extra for cross-gen support and next-gen upgrades, it is a welcome surprise to see Hello Games continue to support No Man’s Sky in the most consumer friendly way possible.
