The Textorcist is free on the Epic Games Store

Though many people will undoubtedly be busy playing their PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series launch titles, the Epic Games Store continues to offer free games on a weekly basis to those with an Epic account. While not the biggest game in the world, The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia is currently free to purchase, and will remain so until the 19th of November.

The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia is a hybrid of two unique genres – a bullet hell and a typing game – making for an even more unique formula. The game will require you to “turn on both sides of your brain” as you “jump into the adventure of Ray Bibbia, a private exorcist who's going to face the threats of a demonic outbreak!”

The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia received a positive critical reception upon its launch back in 2019, thanks to the aforementioned unique blend of genres, as well as its focus on boss fights and difficulty which can lead to a feeling of satisfaction upon finally defeating each boss.

Those who prefer to play games with a controller can still do so, as The Textorcist offers an alternative mode when using a gamepad, with gameplay shifting from a typing focus, to a rhythm-based game, offering a new experience in many ways.

The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia is available to download for free from now until the 19th of November, at which point it will be replaced by Elite Dangerous and The World Next Door.
