Though Godfall was the first PlayStation 5 exclusive to be announced (back in December 2019), the ‘looter-slasher’ has received a much more tepid response when compared to many other PS5 launch titles. Still, while it undoubtedly bolsters the PS5’s exclusive launch line-up, Xbox players seemingly won’t be left out for too long, as the latest trailer for the game suggests that Godfall will be exclusive for only 6 months.
In the latest trailer for Godfall, the final screen which advertises the game as a PlayStation exclusive is accompanied by an asterisk which reads: “Also available on PC. Not available on other consoles until at least 05/12/21 [12th of May 2021].”
While it was already known that Godfall would be coming to PC – simultaneously with the PS5 in fact – the news that the looter-slasher may be coming to “other consoles” is new. Being a next-gen exclusive title, it is highly likely that the “other consoles” is none other than Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S – unless Google’s Stadia counts as a console.
In Godfall, “Aperion is on the precipice of ruin. You are the last of the Valorian knights. Godlike warriors able to equip Valorplates, legendary armor sets that transform wielders into unstoppable masters of melee combat. Tear through foes as you climb through the elemental realms and challenge the mad god, Macros who awaits you at the top. Ascend in Godfall, the first-of-its-kind, looter-slasher, melee action-RPG.”
With Godfall seemingly confirmed to be a 6-month PS5 exclusive, it’ll be interesting to see how long the exclusivity window will be for both Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop – two other confirmed timed-exclusives.
