WoW Shadowlands server fixes are Blizzard’s ‘number one priority’

With each WoW expansion launch, players generally expect lengthy log-in queues and minor issues. Unfortunately, in the case of Shadowlands, servers are struggling far more than expected.

Lengthy, several hour long log-in queues are one of the lingering issues, but some players are also experiencing disconnections and lag when finally getting into the game. These issues were seemingly caused by a recent change to how many players can populate a single realm.

Writing on the WoW forums, Blizzard's community manager explained: “Since shortly after the launch of Shadowlands, we’ve experienced some service issues that are negatively impacting gameplay on a small number of realms. We increased realm capacity to let more players than ever before into a single realm, but extreme demand on a few realms has exceeded even that capacity, so we have dialled down some of our earlier changes.”

At the moment, Blizzard is “trying to carefully balance service stability and accessibility” and this issue is the dev team's number one priority. With that in mind, hopefully there will be some fixes in place in time for the weekend.
