Over the weekend, it emerged that Ubisoft was leaving behind achievements for its PC games, starting with Assassin's Creed Valhalla. This information made its way out via an Ubisoft Support member, but Ubisoft is now brushing this away, claiming that it was a case of miscommunication.
In an update posted to the Ubisoft Forum, another support staff member corrected earlier statements that achievements would not be included for Assassin's Creed Valhalla for PC. Previously, a support member said this was an “intended change”. Now, it turns out that it was actually “unintended”.
Here's the updated quote from Ubisoft: “We are aware that achievements are not available for Assassin's Creed Valhalla players on PC – this was unintended. We are actively working to enable achievements and will keep you updated when more information is available.”
With that in mind, it looks like Ubisoft will continue to implement achievements for its games across all platforms, including PC.
KitGuru Says: Removing achievements from one platform seemed like an odd move for Ubisoft, so I'm glad to see things corrected. Hopefully later this week, achievements will be enabled in Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PC.
