Rainbow Six: Siege PS5 enhancements detailed; 4K 120fps and more

With the transitionary period between the PS4 and PS5 generations, Ubisoft has been one of the most consumer friendly and supportive publishers when it comes to offering upgrades for its – now previous generation – games. One of these titles set to receive enhancements is Rainbow Six: Siege, which will see the game playable with a dynamic 4K at 120fps on the PS5.

Detailing the enhancements via the PlayStation Blog, Ubisoft announced that the free upgrade for Rainbow Six: Siege, which is set to go live on the 1st of December, will offer:

  • Performance Mode: Target 120 fps with 4k Dynamic Resolution Scaling
  • Resolution Mode: Target 60 fps with 4k Resolution
  • Activity Card support for Ranked, Unranked, Newcomer, Quick Match, & Events so players can dive into the game faster
  • Improved lighting
  • Depth of field improvements
  • Faster loading
  • Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers support

All these enhancements will be made available for free to all those who currently own a copy of Rainbow Six: Siege. You need not worry about leaving your friends behind either, as the game will offer full crossplay support between the generations of consoles.

Lastly, all progress will be fully transferable between consoles, including all in-game items and purchases, ensuring that the transition is seamless.

The Xbox Series X will share many of the same enhancements as the PS5 version – save for the DualSense exclusive features and the Activity Card support. The Xbox Series S meanwhile will target 60fps at 1080p. These upgrades will be made available to all for free from the 1st of December.
