Each month, Sony offers its PlayStation Plus subscribers a number of free games. For the month of December, players can get their hands on the open-world sandbox game Just Cause 4, EA’s 3v3 shooter Rocket Arena and more.
For the month of December, those who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus can get their hands on:
- Worms Rumble (PS4/PS5)
- Rocket Arena (PS4/PS5)
- Just Cause 4 (PS4/PS5)
- Bugsnax (PS5)
Just Cause 4 is the latest title in the “action-packed open-world sandbox” franchise which allows players to “cause chaos with a wide selection of weaponry, vehicles and gear as Rico Rodriguez skydives into the exotic climes of South America”. In a new twist for the 4th entry, players will encounter “terrifying environmental conditions, including treacherous tornadoes and tropical lightning storms, and use never-before-seen in-game physics to turn the extreme weather to your advantage”. Though the game suffered from frame rate drops on the PS4, these have been eliminated on the PlayStation 5, making for a much smoother gaming experience.
Rocket Arena is EA’s recently released 3v3 online shooter where the focus is not on killing your opponents, but instead blasting them off of the map. The game received mixed reviews from both critics and fans alike due to a perceived lack of value for money at launch – something which should not be an issue here.
Worms Rumble is a new take on the long-running franchise, swapping turn-based gameplay with “intense, real-time, arena-based 32 player cross-platform combat” which even includes a battle royale. Worms Rumble is launching day-and-date on PlayStation, meaning that subscribers will be some of the first to experience this new take on the Worms franchise.
Lastly, though not newly added for December, Bugsnax on PlayStation 5, which was included with November’s free games, carries on over to December, giving subscribers who missed out another chance to snag this title.
December’s free PS Plus games will be available to purchase from the 1st of December until the 4th of January 2021.
