Rocksteady will continue to support Suicide Squad…for now

It’s safe to say that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is one of the biggest financial failures of the year, with the live-service title reportedly having lost publisher Warner Bros. over $200 million so far. Despite this, WB has confirmed that at the very least, Suicide Squad will get its full first year of support – though what happens after is unknown.

In a statement to IGN, when asked whether the previously-announced roadmap for Kill the Justice League would be honoured, Warner Bros. claimed that they would indeed commit to the game’s first-year of support.

That said, the title’s future beyond this period is unknown, with a WB spokesperson stating “We are not yet discussing anything that is not announced.”

While the response itself is not out of the ordinary for any video game publisher, the unique situation which Suicide Squad currently finds itself in could have been cause for WB to commit to improving the game for years to come.

Based on the statement made however, it’s safe to say that Rocksteady will be honouring the previously-announced roadmap – and likely nothing more. We will have to wait and see.
