After many years of success on PC, last year Facepunch Studios announced that they would be bringing Rust to consoles in partnership with Double Eleven. It has been a long time since we last had an update on the project, but that changed today.
Today, Double Eleven, a studio also known for Prison Architects and work on Minecraft Dungeons, gave a development update on Rust for console. Unfortunately, there is nothing major to share for now, but bigger reveals should come in 2021.
We have a development update about Rust Console Edition. We appreciate all the interest and patience while we continue to work on this title. The developers explain that they have been “working away behind the scenes” but have not “felt ready to share anything” just yet. However, the studio hopes that it can share some significant news in 2021.
Of course, the COVID-19 situation has been one of the biggest challenges for the developers this year. At this point, everyone at Double Eleven is working from home, continuing to make progress on the game.
KitGuru Says: It sounds like we'll be getting bigger news for Rust on console in 2021 after almost a full year of silence. Are any of you looking forward to Rust on console?
