Destiny players have been clamouring for cross-play for a long time now. Bungie took the first step in this direction last year with the introduction of cross-platform saves but the next big piece of the puzzle is coming in 2021, with the studio confirming plans for full cross-play.
In 2021, Destiny 2 players can expect full cross-play support sometime in 2021. In addition, Bungie will be implementing better DDOS protections for console players – a feature that will roll out with Season 13 content.
A few other highlights for Destiny 2 in early 2021 include the return of The Vault of Glass raid, two new strikes, new weapons and new armour.
One of the complaints around Destiny 2's current season has been a small reward pool, so Bungie is going to be cracking down on this soon. Looking a bit further into the future, Transmog will also be coming, but not until Season 14.
