Samsung Galaxy S21 specs leak ahead of January launch

We've previously heard that Samsung is planning to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S21, in January. As we get closer to the start of 2021, this is looking more and more likely, with the latest leak giving us a detailed breakdown of the phone's features and specifications.

According to WinFuture, the Galaxy S21 will be launching on the 14th of January. In terms of specs, we can expect a 6.2-inch Galaxy S21 with a 2400×1080 AMOLED display, and a 6.7-inch Galaxy S21 Plus with the same screen specs. In both cases, 120Hz and 60Hz refresh rate modes will be available.

Elsewhere under the hood, we are told to expect a Qualcomm Snapdraon 888 SoC, or a Samsung Exynos 2100 processor for the European version of the phone. The standard sized Galaxy S21 will have a 4,000 mAh battery, while the Plus-sized version will bump this up to 4,800 mAh. Other specs include a 5G modem, 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

As far as the cameras go, the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus will feature similar cameras to 2020's Galaxy S20. So expect a 12-megapixel main camera sensor and an f/1.8 secondary lens with optical image stabilisation. Unfortunately, the leak doesn't go into detail on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which is where the true camera upgrades will be found.

The Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus are expected to be announced on the 14th of January, with retail availability coming in February. Here in Europe, pricing should start at €849 for the S21 and go up to €1,049 for the S21 Plus.
