Blooper Team is working on a new horror game with “a very famous publisher”

Blooper Team has been very busy over the last few months, having shipped a next-gen enhancement update for The Observer and then releasing The Medium for Xbox Series X/S and PC. According to the studio's CEO, 2021 will mark “another turning point” for the developer, as it works on another horror IP with “a very famous” publisher.

Speaking with GI.biz this week, Blooper Team CEO, Piotr Babieno discussed the company's focus for future projects. The next frontier for the studio is to implement more action, intertwined with its signature phycological horror twists and story telling.

Blooper Team already has another big project in the works, which has been in development for over a year at this point. It is a different horror IP to the ones Blooper has already worked on, and the studio has the backing of a big publisher:

“Psychological horror is still in our DNA. We still would like to have this taste of making games, but we would like to tell our stories more with action. That's why our future projects will be more from the first-person perspective, like The Medium. We'll have much more advanced game mechanics”.

Babieno then goes on to tease: “In fact, we've been working for more than a year on another gaming project, another horror IP, and we're doing this with a very famous gaming publisher. I can't tell you who. I can't tell you what the project is, but I'm pretty sure when people realize we're working on it, they will be very excited.”

So there are no definitive answers for now, but Blooper Team appears to be a studio on the rise, with multiple projects lined up and an eagerness to create a game that ranks amongst other highly regarded horror franchises like Resident Evil and Hellblade.
