AMD Ryzen 5000 “Cezanne” APU die images leaked

CES is coming up in just a few days time and we're expecting some big announcements from AMD in particular. Thanks to a last-minute leak this week, we've got a new look at the die for an unreleased Ryzen 5000 “Cezanne” APU, which should be officially unveiled next week.

The die render shared by VideoCardz show the internals of an unknown Ryzen 5000 APU. Comparing it with a die render of a Renoir APU (Ryzen 3000), the Cezanne APU seems to be about 10% bigger, mainly because of the bigger L3 cache (16MB vs 8MB) and Zen3 cores instead of Zen2 cores.

AMD Ryzen 5000 APUs are expected to come with up to 8x CPU cores and 16x threads paired with an additional 8x graphics cores (Vega or Navi), as seen on the die render.

The number of PCIe lanes appears to remain unchanged, meaning it will probably come with 20x PCIe lanes. In the case of the Ryzen 4000 APUs, the laptop SKUs only had 8x PCIe lanes for the GPU, but the desktop SKUs had 16x PCIe lanes. We are not sure if the Ryzen 5000 APUs will follow the same pattern.

The Ryzen 5000 series APUs are expected to be announced during AMD's CES 2021 keynote on the 11th of January.

KitGuru says: How much performance improvement do you think the Ryzen 5000 APUs will offer over their predecessors? Would you like to see them on laptops, desktops, or both?
