KOTOR revival said to be in the works, not being developed by EA

Earlier this month, LucasFilm Games was officially revived and it was confirmed that the Star Wars games license will no longer be exclusive to EA. We already know that EA is working on a Jedi Fallen Order sequel and Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment is working on an open-world Star Wars game but as it turns out, there may be an even more exciting project in the works. This week, reports indicate that a KOTOR revival is finally on the way.

According to multiple sources speaking with Star Wars fan podcast, Bespin Bulletin, a Knights of the Old Republic game is in development: “Amongst my digging, I heard there is a Knights of the Old Republic project in development somewhere. I talked to a couple of people, and I also found out that Jason Schreier said that it’s not with EA, and we’ll ‘never guess’ who the studio is that’s making this game.”

Shinobi, a well known figure in the gaming community who occasionally reveals insider information, later added that the studio behind this KOTOR revival is “not as mysterious as you think”, explaining that its “not a household name most people are aware of”.

This is not the first time we've heard rumours of a KOTOR revival. It is a part of Star Wars history that fans have wanted to revisit for a long time now. We know EA has internally cancelled one or two attempts from BioWare to return to KOTOR. This time around though, the project is seemingly happening outside of EA, so hopefully we'll get another big update on this later in the year.

KitGuru Says: Do you guys think we'll finally get a KOTOR revival in the next few years? Who would you like to see working on it?
