Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.1 introduces new progress-blocking bug

It has been a couple of days since CD Projekt Red released Cyberpunk 2077's first major patch. In Update 1.1, a lot of issues were fixed and the foundation was set for future updates too. Unfortunately, while there were a lot of fixes, at least one game-breaking bug has been introduced with this update.

Over on the Cyberpunk subreddit, players have pointed out that the quest “Down on the Street” is now bugged after Patch 1.1. This is a main quest, which requires V to meet up with Takemura, a key NPC that you meet early on in the game. Unfortunately, for some players, they have found that they can no longer talk to Takemura in a holocall, which is required to progress in the quest.

Without being able to talk to Takemura, players can't get the quest to update to the next step and as a result, can't continue the main story. CD Projekt Red is already aware of the new bug and while a hotfix is not available yet, the studio has shared a potential workaround:

  1. Load a gamesave before Takemura and V leave Wakako's office.
  2. Finish the conversation with Takemura outside the office right away
  3. Right after the finished conversation and when the quest was updated, skip 23h.
  4. See if the holocall triggers and the dialogue with Takemura starts

If that doesn't work for you, then you may be left waiting for the next patch to arrive. Currently, CD Projekt Red is working on Patch 1.2, which will be the next ‘major' update for Cyberpunk 2077.
