During Summer Game Fest, Sony officially announced LEGO Horizon Adventures – a retelling of 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn which has been completely reimagined in the style of the LEGO Movie. In a surprising move, the game is not only set to come to PlayStation and PC, but also the Nintendo Switch. This has seemingly opened up the opportunity for series protagonist Aloy to appear in Super Smash Bros.
In an interview with Kotaku, franchise development lead producer at Guerrilla Games – Tim Symons – was asked about what the addition of Horizon to a Nintendo platform could mean for future collaborations with Nintendo, in particular when it comes to bringing PlayStation mascot Aloy to a game such as Super Smash Bros.
In response, Symons stated “That'd be nice. If you speak to Nintendo and they want to invite us let me know.”
The release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Switch seemed to have opened the door for an increasing number of external franchises to be represented in the game, with the likes of Joker from Persona, Minecraft Steven, Banjo Kazooie and more being added over time.
It would truly be interesting to see PlayStation characters make their way into a future Smash Bros. entry – especially with Aloy now officially set to be coming to the Switch.
