LG’s latest 4K IPS monitor packs hardware colour calibration

LG has introduced a new 4K IPS monitor to its comprehensive display portfolio. Featuring extended connectivity and hardware colour calibration, the LG 27UP850 is targeted at content creators working with HDR content.

The 27-inch 4K IPS panel of the LG 27UP850 has a 60Hz refresh rate, a 5ms G2G response time, and 10-bit colour depth. Thanks to its 1200:1 typical static contrast ratio and 400 nits of typical brightness, this panel can cover up to 95% of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum. Moreover, this monitor is DisplayHDR-400 certified and comes calibrated out-of-the-box.

The LG 27UP850 features hardware calibration through LG Calibration Studio software, allowing users to colour calibrate their monitor more conveniently. This monitor is also compatible with AMD FreeSync to prevent tearing when playing games. Additionally, it also brings other gaming-related features including Game Mode, Dynamic Action Sync and Black Stabilizer.

In terms of I/O, the LG 27UP850 has a lot to offer, including 2x HDMI ports, DisplayPort 1.4 and a USB hub with 2x USB-A 2.0 ports and a USB-C port with 96W of power delivery and DP Alternate Mode. There is also a 3.5mm audio-out for headphones and two 5W internal speakers for audio. Finally, the stand included with the monitor offers tilt, swivel and height adjustment, as well as support for VESA 100x100mm mounting brackets.

The LG 27UP850 is available starting this month for €549/$549.99.

KitGuru says: LG's latest monitor looks promising so far, especially for colour accuracy at this price point. What do you all think of the LG 27UP850? Is this the sort of monitor you'd like to add to your setup?
