Fall Guys is also coming to Xbox

During the most recent Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, the popular Takeshi’s Castle styled Battle Royale game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Following this, it was revealed that Xbox users would soon also be able to fight their way through a series of mini-games in the pursuit of obtaining a crown, when Fall Guys launches on Xbox this Summer.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Microsoft revealed that “Fall Guys is landing on Xbox Series XIS and Xbox One this summer”. Though no concrete date was given, it is safe to assume that the title will launch concurrently on both Xbox and Switch.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout first launched on PlayStation 4 and PC back in August 2020 to immediate success. Shortly after the game’s launch, it became the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game in the history of the service. Furthermore, the game sold over 10 million copies on PC alone, as of November 2020.

While talk surrounding the game has subsided somewhat, the title continues to see support, with Fall Guys currently part way through its 3rd Season of content. It will be interesting to see whether the Xbox and Switch release helps to give the game another significant boost in players and interest.

Unfortunately, so far there has been no confirmation of crossplay between consoles. Hopefully this is something that Mediatonic can add after the fact – if it is not available at launch. Regardless, it’s good to see Fall Guys making its way to other consoles.
