With a 10-bit colour depth. 300nits of brightness, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a factory calibration with ∆E<2 variance, the ThinkStation P40w-20's IPS panel covers 99% of the sRGB colour gamut and 98% of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum.

The ThinkStation P40w-20 monitor is certified as TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe Display, featuring Natural Low Blue Light technology to reduce the users' eye strain and fatigue. Supporting Intel AMT technology, users can access other computers connected to the same network as this display. Additionally, it also features Audio Smart Switch to automatically select the audio device connected through the audio jack and activate it, an eKVM to access two sources at the same time, and PbP mode to display two sources side-by-side.

For I/O, the monitor includes a DisplayPort 1.4, an HDMI 2.0 port, 2x Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, 4x USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, a USB-C 3.2 Gen1 port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an Ethernet RJ45 port. Lenovo hasn't revealed the pricing of the ThinkStation P40w-20, but it is planned to release by Q3 2021.
