Last September, Ubisoft announced that it would finally be returning to the Prince of Persia series, starting off with a remake of The Sands of Time, the first game in the series. The game initially targeted a January 2021 release date but was later pushed back. Now, the game has been delayed again – this time with no new release date offered.
In December 2020, the Prince of Persia remake was delayed to March 2021. Now as we get closer to that date, the developers have realised they need more time, resulting in another delay:

“Since announcing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in September, we saw an outpouring of feedback from you on this beloved franchise”, the statement reads. “It is your passion and support that is driving our development teams to make the best game possible. With that said, we have made the decision to shift the release to a later date”.
The statement goes on to say that this additional time will help the team to “deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original”. Unfortunately, no new release window was offered, so it could be some time before we hear more.
KitGuru Says: Prince of Persia has a very dedicated fanbase, so getting the remake right is very important. Hopefully after this delay, the developers will have enough time to do just that.
