Metro Exodus is getting major enhancements this year for PC and next-gen consoles

Metro Exodus is due for a big graphical upgrade this year and it won't just be for next-gen consoles. An enhanced edition of the game has now been announced for PC too, with improved ray-tracing, performance and other features.

The enhancement list is huge, boasting full ray-traced lighting, denoising, improved temporal reconstruction technology, emissive lighting, ray-traced reflections, 4K textures and other bug fixes. The PC version will also be getting upgraded to DLSS 2.0, which should be a notable improvement over the DLSS 1.0 technology in the current version of the game. Consoles will get an upgrade to 4K/60fps gameplay.

The PC Enhanced Edition will be a free upgrade to all owners of Metro Exodus in Spring 2021. Those who own the Xbox One or PS4 editions of Metro Exodus will also get access to the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 enhancements later this year.

Aside from all of that, 4A Games has also confirmed that Metro Exodus is coming to Mac and Linux systems this year too. You can see the developer's full breakdown of the upgrade HERE.

KitGuru Says: The enhancements for Metro Exodus sound very impressive across both PC and consoles. It will be very interesting to see comparisons between this version and the original release later this year.
