RTX 3060 specs and launch date confirmed

Last week, reports indicated that Nvidia would be launching the non-Ti variation of the RTX 3060 later this month and now that February 25th launch date is confirmed. Aside from confirming the launch date, Nvidia has also confirmed a few key specs for its upcoming entry-level RTX GPU.

The RTX 3060 will ship with 3584 CUDA Cores versus the RTX 3060 Ti's 4864. While the RTX 3060 does cut down on CUDA Cores, it does provide a boost in other areas, with the GPU listed as having 12GB of GDDR6 memory instead of 8GB. The base RTX 3060's boost clock speed is also a bit higher than the RTX 3060Ti – 1.67GHz versus 1.78GHz.

While the base RTX 3060 does provide more memory, it is slower, running on a 192-bit bus compared to the 256-bit bus on the RTX 3060 Ti.

The RTX 3060 requires just one PCIe 8-pin connection for power and has a 170W power draw, 30W less than the Ti version. The RTX 3060 is launching on the 25th of February with prices starting at $329/£299.
