Microsoft may be holding an event this Thursday

As we navigate through 2021, fans have been looking forward into the year, wondering what new gaming experiences await them. While both Nintendo and PlayStation have now updated fans on what to expect, through a Nintendo Direct and PlayStation State of Play respectively, Microsoft has been relatively silent. However, it seems this silence may be broken shortly, as all signs are pointing to an event being held this Thursday.

In a Tweet by the official Xbox UK Twitter account, it was announced that a stream will be taking place this Thursday. However, unlike the rest of the streams for the week, which have had their details revealed, the Thursday stream is merely listed as ‘TBA’. While this on its own is not enough to solidify the notion that some form of a game showcase is being held this week, Jeff Grubb has reported that an Xbox event is taking place on the 11th of March.

Grubb, who accurately leaked many of 2020’s events, claimed that on Thursday the 11th of March, Xbox will be discussing “what’s up with Xbox/Bethesda acquisition”. Recently we reported that the Microsoft acquisition of ZeniMax has been approved by the EU commission, removing all legal barriers and allowing the acquisition to go ahead.

What this means for this mysterious Thursday stream is that it is possible that Microsoft may be holding an event showcasing all of the Bethesda games coming to Xbox. Previously, we saw a number of titles, including The Elder Scrolls VI, Starfield, a new Indiana Jones game, and more. It will be interesting to see whether any of these games are discussed during this stream, and what exactly Microsoft has planned for Bethesda moving forward. Of course, expectations should be tempered.
