When Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity released late last year, it was clear after playing the game that Nintendo had more content planned. At the recent Nintendo Direct, an expansion pass for the game was officially announced, offering two sets of DLC, the first of which will arrive in June.
The Hyrule Warriors expansion pass, which will cost £17.99 will include two sets of DLC drops, alongside some bonus extras. Purchasing the expansion pass will give access to a bonus weapon as well as a bonus costume for Link. These items will arrive on the 28th of May.
The first proper wave of DLC will arrive some in June, and will include:
- Expanded roster
- Newly-added weapon types
- New challenges in the Royal Ancient Lab
- Newly-added challenging enemies
The second wave meanwhile will release a year after the base game, coming sometime in November 2021. This wave of DLC will add:
- New character vignettes
- Newly-added stages
- Expanded roster
- New battle skills for existing characters
With no new information on when fans can expect to be playing the Breath of the Wild sequel, fleshing out the world through DLC for Age of Calamity is welcome. Hopefully it will be enough to tide fans over until the release of Breath of the Wild’s sequel.
The Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity expansion pass can be purchased right now from the Nintendo eShop, and costs £17.99.
