March’s Xbox Games with Gold announced

Each month, Microsoft offers a number of games for free to all those with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Though the decision was quickly reversed, the console manufacturer had originally planned on doubling the price of this service, prompting some to wonder whether the games offered would increase in either quality or quantity. It would seem that is not the case, if March’s line-up is any indication.

The four free games being offered are:

The standout title for March is perhaps the tactical online first-person shooter Warface: Breakout. This game is a spinoff of the free-to-play shooter of the same name, and has you “Make split-second decisions, use a vast arsenal of weapons, and master the high-stakes PvP experience to become the ultimate mercenary of tomorrow”. The game continues to get updated with new content, meaning that there is plenty to experience. Though reception has been somewhat mixed, the game has been described as “a CS: GO like experience,” which may be enough of a reason for some Xbox players to give this game a try.

Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse is a “frantic top-down, couch co-op, twin-stick shooter” which sees you “Remotely pilot an endless supply of mechs to fight through the vast llama horde apocalypse.”

Metal Slug 3 is a run-and-gun shooter for Xbox 360 which lets you “Run, gun, slice, and camel your way through an onslaught of adversaries, from soldiers to giant enemy crabs.”

Port Royale 3, another Xbox 360 title, is a business simulation game which sees you play as “a young sea captain whose only goal is to be the most powerful man in the New World. To achieve your goal, either choose to be a trader – developing trade routes to earn fortune, glory, and power; or become an adventurer – plundering, invading, and leading your ships in beautiful 3D naval battles.”
