Elden Ring expansion introduces new Steam Deck bug that makes controls unresponsive

If you were planning on jumping into Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree today on your Steam Deck, then you may want to hold off for a few days. From Software has confirmed that the new expansion has introduced a bug on Steam Deck, leading to unresponsive controls.

Elden Ring is one of those games where you absolutely do not want any latency spikes or controller hiccups to take place, as gameplay is based on well-timed attacks and dodge rolls. If you are playing the game on Steam Deck, you may encounter some frustrations after the most recent patch, but From Software is working to address the issue.

Speaking on the issue, From Software shared the following message: “Note: a Steam Deck related issue has been identified and a hotfix is being worked on. Leaving your Steam Deck inactive for more than 5 minutes may stop the game from accepting inputs. We apologize for inconvenience. The date and time of the hotfix will be announced separately.”

In the thread, other users are also encountering an issue where the game is unable to start in online mode, but others have said that verifying the game files through Steam can fix this.
