It looks like Microsoft will have a new Surface Laptop out soon. According to sources, the Surface Laptop 4 will be coming in April, complete with both Intel and AMD configuration options.
The Surface Laptop 4 will include Ryzen 4000 mobile series CPUs, not the more expensive Ryzen 5000 mobile SKUs that were announced earlier this year. Specifically on the AMD front, options for the Ryzen 5 4680U and Ryzen 7 4980U will be included. Meanwhile on the Intel side, Microsoft will apparently be offering the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1145G1 and Core i7-1185G7.
This information comes from sources speaking with WinFuture. More details were also revealed, including the fact that each Surface Laptop 4 will come with a 3:2 aspect ratio display, with a resolution of 2256×1504 on the 13″ model and 2496×1664 on the 15″ model.
Memory options will max out at 32GB of RAM on Intel models and 16GB on AMD models. Storage is capped at up to 1TB from the factory on Intel models, while AMD versions will apparently max out at 512GB of SSD storage.
Microsoft is expected to announce its new Surface laptops in April during an event. Microsoft has several events planned for the next several months, focusing on Surface hardware, Windows 10 and what's next for gaming. Last week, Microsoft held its Mixed Reality focused event, during which it partnered with Niantic to show off a Pokemon Go demo running on Hololens.
