Misfits Gaming signs exclusive League of Legends partnership with KIOXIA

KIOXIA is getting into the esports sponsorship ring, with Misfits Gaming's League of Legends team being the first to represent the brand at tournaments. The sponsorship deal will see the League of Legends squad running KIOXIA EXCERIA SSDs in their gaming rigs.

Misfits Gaming Group was founded in 2016 and currently has two active teams, one for professional-level League of Legends and another for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Previously, Misfits has also been involved in CS:GO and Overwatch esports.

KIOXIA's EXCERIA SSD series comes in two forms, a SATA option at standard SATA SSD speeds, and an M.2 option with faster 1700/1600 MB/s sequential read and write speeds and BiCS Flash. Speaking about the deal with Misfits, Jamie Stitt, KIOXIA Europe GmbH General Manager of B2C Sales & Marketing said:

“Solid state drives are a fundamental component of a high-performing gaming system and KIOXIA looks forward to supporting the teams with the hardware they need to perform in the form of our EXCERIA SSD range.”

On Misfits' end, the group's VP of partnerships, Vas Roberts, said: “KIOXIA is world-renowned for their excellence in storage and memory solutions, and we’re thrilled to welcome such a prestigious partner to our team. Their new range of high-speed EXCERIA SSDs will power the League of Legends teams in Berlin and ensure our players get the best performance out of their PCs”.

KitGuru Says: It is nice to see a UK-based esports organisation making some headlines. Do many of you follow any esports teams? What do you think of KIOXIA's new partnership with Misfits Gaming?
