Crypto miners successfully crack RTX 3060 Ethereum restrictions

The GeForce RTX 3060 has been on the market for a few weeks now, complete with Nvidia's new anti-mining measures in place. As you may expect, groups have been working to crack Nvidia's anti-mining tech since the launch and now, it would seem that someone has successfully managed to crack it.

There have been several unconfirmed reports of a crack over the last week. The team at PC Watch was able to test this new method, confirming that it does indeed raise the hash rate of the RTX 3060 for Ethereum mining without any modifications made to the driver or BIOS.

Nvidia introduced its anti-mining tech to specifically limit the hash rate on the most popular crypto currencies, including Ethereum. With this new crack, the hash rate for the RTX 3060 should rise above 40 MH/s. Previously with Nvidia's limitations in place, the hash rate was in the 20 to 25 MH/s range.

As reported by VideoCardz, this crack isn't limited to one specific mining software either. The developers behind Phoenix Miner seem to be making some progress on unlocking RTX 3060 mining performance too.

Nvidia has not commented on news of this working crack yet, but we'll update if that happens. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: If this crack is working, then it is only a matter of time before it starts circulating widely. If Nvidia plans to use its anti-mining measures on future GeForce RTX GPUs, then it is going to need to be enhanced first.

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
