While AMD hasn't announced its upcoming Ryzen 5000G APUs yet, early engineering samples are appearing in online auctions. Over on eBay, someone is attempting to sell an engineering sample of the Ryzen 3 5300G APU, the listing even links to a video with performance benchmarks, giving us an idea of how this APU holds up against other chips from Intel and AMD.
As per the eBay listing found by @harukaze5719, the Ryzen 3 5300G is a Zen3-based 4C/8T APU with a base clock of 3.5GHz, 2MB of L2 cache, and 8MB of L3 cache. The vendor had 5 engineering samples of the APU for sale, all with an OPN code of 100-000000262-30_Y, but they are already sold out. The listing further states that support for the Ryzen 3 5300G is still limited, highly recommending the use of an X570 motherboard, although B550 motherboards should also work as well.

Besides the images in the listing, the vendor also uploaded a video in which he compares the Ryzen 3 5300G performance with other similarly priced Intel and AMD processors and APUs. The following table shows the synthetic benchmark results:
Processor | CPU-Z Single Thread | CPU-Z Multi Thread | Fritz Chess Benchmark | Cinebench R15 |
---|---|---|---|---|
AMD Ryzen 3 5300G | 553.22 | 2985.12 | 20072 | 1117 |
AMD Ryzen 3 3300X | 528 | 2824 | 19674 | 1101 |
AMD Ryzen 3 Pro 4350G | 501 | 2766 | 17831.2 | 957.46 |
AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | 474 | 2645 | 17251 | 1015 |
Intel Core i3-10100 | N/D | 2461 | 16037 | 1001 |
Intel Core i3-9100 | N/D | 1761 | 12158 | 663 |
Gaming performance is also touched on, although the vendor only tried the APU on Battlefield V and Battlefield 4 on different preset settings at 1080p. Using the low preset on Battlefield 4, the Ryzen 3 5300G ES had an average framerate of 95 FPS, on the mid preset it averaged at 82 FPS, and on high preset averaged at 47 FPS. Switching over to Battlefield V, the APU averaged 48 FPS on low settings, 37 FPS with medium settings and 29 FPS using the high preset.
The release date for Ryzen 5000G APUs is still unknown, but they are expected to release this year.
KitGuru says: These are early performance numbers, but it gives us a rough idea of what gaming experience to expect from this particular upcoming APU. Are any of you planning on building a small, APU powered rig this year?
