The Witcher Season 2 has wrapped up filming

After multiple delays due to the coronavirus and an on-set injury, filming has officially wrapped on The Witcher Season Two. The next season will adapt the Blood of Elves novel and will introduce The Wild Hunt.

The second season for Netflix’s The Witcher began filming last year, but the coronavirus pandemic caused delays. When filming was able to begin again, Henry Cavill unfortunately suffered an injury on set, which pushed things back a little further. Fortunately, things are now back on track, with filming officially wrapping up this week:

We know a few things about the show’s second season – nilfgaardian soldiers now have better armour, Henry Cavill’s Geralt costume has been updated and leaked set images show that we’ll see The Wild Hunt at least once.

The season will adapt the Blood of Elves novel, which is the first major book in the novel series, taking place after the two collections of short stories, some of which we saw adapted in individual episodes throughout season one.

There is no release date yet for The Witcher’s second season, but hopefully we’ll see it before the end of this year. There is still plenty of editing and post-production work to be done.

KitGuru Says: I really enjoyed The Witcher’s first season, even if the timeline jumping was a bit confusing. Fortunately, that will be fixed in season two, as we already have the backstory for our three main characters – Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri. Are many of you looking forward to The Witcher’s second season?
