Age of Empires IV gameplay will be shown at event next month

Age of Empires IV was announced all the way back in 2017 and since then, we've seen very little of the game. That is changing next month, with Microsoft announcing a preview event, during which we'll get a good look at Age of Empires IV gameplay.

The Age of Empires: Fan Preview event is going to take place on the 10th of April, following up on the XO19 reveal of Age of Empires IV with new gameplay footage. We can expect to see new civilisations, campaigns and more.

Age of Empires IV is being developed by Relic Entertainment, who previously worked on the Homeworld games, Company of Heroes and the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series. Microsoft's own first-party studio, World's Edge, is assisting and overseeing the game's development.

While we will be seeing Age of Empires IV at this event, there is a chance that we'll also be seeing some new updates for the Age of Empires: Definitive Edition remasters, which Microsoft has been slowly rolling out over the last three years.

KitGuru Says: Age of Empires IV has been in the works for a long time at this point, so I'll be hoping for some release date news. Are many of you looking forward to Age of Empires IV? Have you gone back and played any of the Definitive Edition games since its announcement?

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
