Thermalright announces massive dual-tower Frost Commander 140 CPU cooler

Thermalright has introduced a new dual-fin stack CPU cooler – the Frost Commander 140. Equipped with a 120mm fan and a 140mm fan, the new Thermalright cooler was designed to offer better RAM clearance than other dual-tower CPU coolers.

By using a 120mm fan to cool the first fin-stack, Thermalright's new cooler has more RAM clearance than most dual-tower CPU coolers, allowing users to mount RAM modules with up to 40mm in height. There's also a 140mm fan between both towers to cool the second fin-stack. Additionally, there are mounting clips included to mount a third fan (up to 140mm) to further enhance cooling by pulling heat away from the second heatsink.

The included 120mm TL-C12 fan is capable of pushing 82 CFM of air at 2.1mm H₂O static pressure, with a maximum speed of 1850 RPM and a rated noise output of 29.6dBA. The included 140mm fan is capable of pushing 95.5 CFM of air with a static pressure of 2.25mm H₂O and a noise output of 30.2dBA.

The two similarly sized fin-stacks feature 53 aluminium fins each and are connected to the nickel-plated pure copper base through five 8mm heatpipes. Measuring in at 160x146x140mm (HxLxW) with both fans mounted, the Frost Commander 140 supports the AMD AM4 socket and Intel LGA 115x/1200/2011/2066 sockets.

KitGuru says: Considering its specifications, the Thermalright Frost Commander 140 should rival most dual-tower coolers as well as entry-level AIO liquid coolers. Do you prefer dual-tower air coolers over AIOs?Would you consider the Thermalright Frost Commander 140 for a new PC build?
