Xbox console-exclusive Call of the Sea is coming to PlayStation

While system exclusive video games are still very much a thing, it seems that eventually given enough time, most of these titles will find their way onto other platforms. Following the announcement that PlayStation-exclusive Erica is coming to PC, the previously Xbox console-exclusive Call of the Sea is now coming to PlayStation.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Call of the Sea account posted a not-so-cryptic tweet saying “Nothing but greatness awaits” alongside a cropped and rotated picture of the PlayStation logo – all but confirming its release on Sony platforms.

Call of the Sea is an adventure style video game taking inspiration from titles such as Firewatch and Subnautica. The game was first announced at an Xbox games showcase back in May of 2020, coming out later that same year.

Call of the Sea received mostly positive reviews, owing to the game's narrative and puzzles. Though not overwhelmingly deemed to be a must-play, the game appears to be worth a try, especially for fans of the genre. Call of the Sea launched day-and-date on Xbox Game Pass, and so it will be interesting to see what the plan is for PlayStation. We’ll have to wait and see.
