AMD launches Radeon RX 6800 XT Midnight Black, sells out immediately

In a surprise move this week, AMD released more reference Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics cards in a new ‘Midnight Black' colour scheme. AMD Red Team members were tipped off with an email but as you would expect in the current market, all stock sold out pretty much immediately.

As per the email sent to VideoCardz, the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Midnight Black was made available on AMD's official website for a limited time and only while stocks last. It didn't take long for that stock to go, as the graphics card has already sold out.

Instead of coming with the original colour scheme of the reference design cooler, the shroud of the Radeon RX 6800 XT Midnight Black is almost fully black, with small grey accents around the fans. As for everything else, that all remains the same, so buyers can expect a Navi 21 XT GPU with 72 CUs, 72 Ray Accelerators, 16GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 16Gbps and 128MB of Infinity Cache.

The new Midnight Black edition also retains the same 2.5-slot design as the original reference card. The RX 6800 XT Midnight Black was sold through AMD's official website alone, priced at $649 USD. There appears to be no stock left at the time of publishing and there is no confirmation of a re-stock taking place anytime soon.

KitGuru says: What do you all think of the new Midnight Black version of the RX 6800 XT? Do you prefer the design to the original? Were any of you able to actually get your hands on one before stock disappeared?
