Razer revenue soared by 48% during 2020, generating $1.2 billion in revenue

Over the course of 2020, we saw a huge rise in activity across the gaming market. As one of the most popular companies in gaming, Razer benefitted from this, leading to $1.2 billion in total revenues for the full year – a 48 percent rise over 2019.

This week, Razer revealed its financial results for the 2020 calendar year (ending 31st December). Over that 12 month period, Razer generated $1.2 billion USD, with $1.08 billion of that coming from the company's hardware division. Revenue for hardware sales rose by 51.8 percent year-on-year.

Total revenues for Razer's software business were not shared, but there was some growth there too. As GI.biz reports, Razer Fintech for instance rose by 66.8%, generating $128.4 million.

As successful as Razer is, the company rarely reports a profit. For the first half of the year, the company posted a $17.7 million loss, but this recovered in the second half of the year, leading to a GAAP net profit of $800,000.

KitGuru Says: A lot of tech companies struggled at the manufacturing level in 2020 due to the pandemic, but Razer was seemingly able to keep on top of things, leading to a banner year financially. Did any of you buy any Razer gear last year? What did you pick up?
