Here’s everything Apple announced during the Spring Loaded event

Apple's Spring Loaded event took place last night as planned and as expected, new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models were announced. However, the announcements didn't stop there, as Apple also unveiled a new Apple TV, new iMac models, AirTag and a new purple colourway for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini.

The Apple AirTag is a small and customisable accessory that users can utilise to locate anything that it attaches to. With AirTag, users can keep track of a laptop, a smartphone, a bag, or any other important object. Using the Find My network, users can locate the attached AirTag through the Find My app. The data and location will be kept private and anonymous. The AirTag will be available starting April 30th, priced at $30 for a single AirTag and $99 for a pack of four.

The Apple TV 4K has been upgraded with a new processor, allowing it to playback videos at higher frame rates with HDR enabled. From now on, the Apple TV 4K will come equipped with an A12 Bionic chip, providing users with better graphic capabilities, video decoding, and audio processing. Moreover, Apple also added a feature that allows users to calibrate the TV quality using the iPhone camera. Apple TV's remote also received a redesign featuring an aluminium body and a more intuitive layout. The new Apple TV 4K will be available in the second half of May, but pre-orders are already available for $179 (32GB) and $199 (64GB). The new remote controller can be bought separately for $59.

The new generation of iMacs will be powered by the Apple M1 chip. The reinvented design makes it look a lot more like the iPad but in a bigger format, resulting in a reduction of the total volume by 50%. It features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with 1.07 billion colours (10-bit) and 500nits of brightness. On top of the screen, there's a 1080p webcam that can record videos in low light. The iMac comes with the Magic mouse and an updated Magic keyboard with/without Touch ID. Both the mouse and the keyboard have the same colour as the iMac. The $1,299 version is only available in green, pink, blue, and silver and features an 8-core CPU, 7-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, 2x Thunderbolt ports, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Mouse. The $1,499 version is available in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver and features an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, 2x Thunderbolt ports, 2x USB 3.0 ports, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, Magic Mouse, and an Ethernet port.

Finally, Apple also announced the next generation of iPad Pro. Powered by Apple's M1 chip, Apple has created the “fastest device of its kind.” The 12.9-inch model uses a Liquid Retina XDR display, featuring Mini LED technology with 2596 local dimming zones, a 1M:1 contrast ratio, and up to 1600nits of brightness. The 12MP front-facing camera uses an ultrawide lens and features Centre Stage to keep users framed. The new iPad Pro models also come with up to 2TB of SSD storage, an 8-core GPU, support for Thunderbolt (40Gbps) and MM wave (5G models only). There will only be two finishes available: silver and space grey. The iPad Pro is available now for pre-order, but it's only scheduled to release in the second half of May. The 11-inch model starts at $799 (Wi-Fi) and $999 (Wi-Fi + Cellular). As for the 12.9-inch model, the starting price increases to $1,099 (Wi-Fi) and $1,299 (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

KitGuru says: What do you all think of Apple's new product stack? It seems Apple is moving towards putting the M1 chip in every major device, aside from the iPhone (for now).
