Western Digital launches trio of WD_Black Gaming SSDs for PC and console

Western Digital is amping up its WD_Black Gaming SSD range this week. During today's Flash Perspective event, WD announced three new WD Black SSDs, including the new WD_Black SN750 SE and a pair of WD_Black D30 Game Drive SSDs for next-gen console storage expansion.

We'll start off with the PC-focused WD_Black SN750 SE. This newly updated SSD brings PCIe 4 performance to PCs and laptops, with read speeds of up to 3,600MB/s, all while using 30 percent less power than its predecessor. The WD_Black SN750 SE also serves as a very affordable entry point to PCIe 4 SSDs, with prices starting at $54.99 for the 250GB model.

Due to the growth in graphics and fidelity in video games now compared to even five years ago, gamers not only need a lot of storage, but they need it to be fast too. This is the reason behind Sony and Microsoft's decision to switch to SSD storage in Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles. For those that need additional storage on their console, Western Digital has a new WD_Black D30 Game Drive SSD for the PS5 and a version designed for Xbox consoles too.

The WD_Black D30 Game Drive SSD sports read speeds of up to 900MB/s and is available in capacities of 500GB, 1TB and 2TB, with prices starting at $89.99 for the regular version, or $99.99 for the Xbox-licensed model. There is no performance difference between the two, however, those picking up the Xbox edition will get one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate included with their purchase.

All three new WD_Black SSDs will be rolling out in the US and Europe over the course of this Summer. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.
