A new leak has surfaced, giving us more early details for Nvidia's upcoming RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti GPUs for laptops. A new report this week is claiming details on specifications and more importantly, performance, with comparisons between the RTX 3050 and other Nvidia laptop GPUs.
According to Notebookcheck, the new RTX 3050 GPUs will come with a customisable TGP ranging from 35W to 80W. Similar to other RTX laptop GPUs, as the TGP increases, so does the clock speed.
Further strengthening previous leaks and rumours, the RTX 3050 will feature 2,048 CUDA cores and a boost clock speed of 1057MHz at 35W. If the TGP is set to 80W, the boost speed reaches 1740MHz. As for memory, it will feature 4GB of GDDR6 clocked at 5.5GHz across a 128-bit memory bus.

The RTX 3050 Ti will sport 2,560 CUDA cores, with a boost clock speed ranging from 1,035MHz at 35W to 1,695MHz at 80W. The memory specifications of the RTX 3050 Ti are the same as the RTX 3050, with 4GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 5.5GHz and a 128-bit bus.
The following table further details the specifications of the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPUs:
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 laptop GPU | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU | |
---|---|---|
CUDA cores | 2,048 | 2,560 |
TGP | 35W – 80W | 35W – 80W |
Clock frequencies (boost) | 35W: 1,057.5MHz 50W: 1,455MHz 60W: 1,500MHz 80W: 1,740MHz |

The report also includes some benchmark results. As it seems, the new RTX 3050 laptop GPUs will offer quite a nice bump in performance over their predecessors. On 3DMark Time Spy, the RTX 3050 scored 4,798 points, outperforming the GTX 1650 by 37.2%. The RTX 3050 Ti scored 5,246, a 46% uplift over the GTX 1650 Ti.
The RTX 3050 series laptop GPUs have also been tested on Shadow of the Tomb Raider at Ultra and Medium settings. The RTX 3050 offered solid performance, reaching an average of 60FPS on the Ultra preset and 75 on the Medium preset. That's 36% and 27% more than the GTX 1650, respectively.
The RTX 3050 Ti managed 69FPS at Ultra and an outstanding 106 FPS at Medium. Playing on the Ultra preset, the RTX 3050 Ti delivers 46% more FPS than the GTX 1650 Ti. At Medium, the difference further increases to 63% between both GPUs.
