Disney suffers massive data leak

Disney is the latest massive corporation to suffer a major databreach. The group behind the hack claims to have gained access to internal files and systems by exploiting weak accounts on the company's Slack platform.

The breach, as reported by Hackread, was conducted by the group ‘NullBulge', and the leak contains over 1TB of files, including employee communications, internal files, code, login details and more.

The group behind the attack claims it was in retaliation for unfair pay for artists. There does not appear to have been a ransom attempt, with the leak dropping straight onto the web without any kind of dark web auction.

The leak, which has been made available for download already, has led to some unannounced projects being revealed publicly, including a new Aliens Fireteam Elite title from 20th Century Games, which Disney acquired as part of its deal to buy FOX in recent years.

KitGuru Says: Disney has not yet commented on the breach, but the company will no doubt be investigating to figure out the extent of the damage.
