Asus ROG Strix XG349C boasts ultrawide resolution and 180Hz refresh rate

Asus is on a monitor announcement spree. Following the Strix XG43UQ and the XG27AQM, the company has now announced the Strix XG349C, featuring a curved panel with a 180Hz refresh rate and a UWQHD resolution.

The Asus ROG Strix XG349C features a Nano IPS panel with a 1900R curvature, a 3440×1440 resolution, and 1ms of response time (G2G). The monitor features Adaptive Sync, including support for both AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible mode. Additionally, it also comes with ELMB Sync that can be used simultaneously with G-Sync to further reduce motion blur.

The Nano IPS 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) panel has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400nits of brightness, and comes factory calibrated with a ΔE<2. This allows the monitor to cover up to 98% of the DCI-P3 wide colour spectrum and receives VESA's DisplayHDR 400 certification. Moreover, specifications also show that the monitor features ‘Dynamically Local Dimming', but the number of dimming zones is unknown.

Like the other ROG Strix monitors, the XG349C comes with a lot of gaming-oriented features, including Shadow Boost, GamePlus overlay, GameVisual colour presets, flicker-free technology, and low blue light mode.

As for connectivity, there's an HDMI 2.0 port, a DisplayPort 1.4, 2x USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a KVM switch. There's also a pair of 2W speakers for users that may not enjoy the use of headsets/earphones. The included stand emits a ROG logo to the desk and allows users to tilt, swivel, and adjust the height. There's also support for VESA 100x100mm mounting brackets.
